Humans can go a month without food, but only 2-3 days without water.

In physician Dr. Batmanghelidj’s book “Your Body’s Many Cries for Water”, he concluded that ordinary water prevents and cures depression, asthma, arthritis, back pain, migraines, high blood pressure, multiple sclerosis, and many other illnesses. “You are not sick, you are thirsty,” he asserted. He also opposed the use of costly drugs for treating illnesses, saying that you “don’t treat thirst with medication.”

Not only does water prevent and cure these diseases, it is crucial to our survival. The body is 75% water, so it makes sense that this essential fluid must be continually replenished. While your daily water intake needs depend on a variety of factors, most doctors recommend eight 8-ounce glasses, or 1.9 liters, a day.

Tip: Keep a bottle or cup of pure spring water with you and sip it throughout the day. If you use a refillable bottle, note how many ounces it is, and refill accordingly. As you drink, notice how your body responds. When you start to consume more water, you’ll feel better and improve your health!
